Junior Dairy Cattle Show

Judging - Tuesday, August 12th, 6:00 p.m.

All cattle shall be accompanied by a certificate of Veterinary Inspection.

Entry Form on page 25 of the printed catalog.

1. Competition is limited to either 4-H members who were enrolled in the 4th grade or FFA members who were enrolled in agricultural education on January 1 of current calendar year and have not reached the end of the calendar year of their high school graduation.

2. All animals entered in the Junior Dairy Show must be registered in the name of the junior exhibitor, or transferred to the boy or girl in whose name the entry is made by July 1, 2008. Registration papers or transfer certificates, properly executed, must be presented to the chairman of the show when cattle arrive at the fairgrounds.

3. All animals exhibited must meet health requirements of the Fair.

4. Cattle must be entered using entry form in the Fair Catalog.

5. Cattle must be in place by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

6. Release time will be after the show unless animals are to be shown in open show.

7. One animal per exhibitor per lot may be entered.

8. Premiums will be paid for place 1-5 according to the following schedule:
        1st - $20.00
        2nd - $15.00
        3rd - $10.00
        4th - $8.00
        5th - $5.00
If only one entry in a class, exhibitor will receive 2nd place money.

9. Exhibitor pass will be required for $5.00 per pass per day.

Class 03 - Little Britches Contest

1. Class 04 is open to children two years to eight years, not yet a member of 4-H, showing calves six months or younger.
2. Calves need not be registered but must be a pure-bred dairy animal.
3. Calves need not be owned by the children exhibiting them; however, each exhibitor should make his own arrangements for a calf.
4. All entries will receive a trophy.
