 RULES & INFORMATION

  • Download Entry Form HERE.
  • Tennessee Exhibitors must have a (90 day) and Out of State Exhibitors must have a (30 day) Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and meet the requirements of the Scrapie Program and the Cocke County Fair.
  • Competition is limited to 4-H and FFA members enrolled by January 1st, 2017 and have not reached their 21st birthday by December 31st, 2017.
  • All animals in the show must be purebred and registered in the exhibitors name, or transferred to the exhibitor by August 1st, 2016. Registration or transfer certificates, properly executed, must be presented to the show chairman upon arrival.
  • Exhibitors are allowed to enter NO more than two(2) animals per lot in the Breed Show.
  • Exhibitors must comply with Tennessee Department of Agriculture Rules and the Cocke County Fair General Rules.
  • If only one entry in a class, exhibitor will receive 2nd place premium money.
  • Ribbons will be given for places 1st thru 10th.
  • Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champions will receive Rosette Ribbons.
  • No Premium Money for Showmanship, Reserve Grand Champions, or Grand Champion Winners.
  • Breed Show will be provided for any breed with ten(10) or more head an three(3) exhibitors. Breeds with less than ten(10) head and three(3) exhibitors will show in All Other Breeds, Class one(1).
  • Entry Forms must be postmarked by TBA. Late entries will no be guaranteed a pen space.
  • Entry fee: $2.00/head, Late Entry Fee: $3.00/head and must accompany entry forms.
  • Each exhibitor must purchase a $5.00 livestock pass. Up to four additional passes may be purchased for $5.00 each. One vehicle and trailer only will be admitted and must park in designated area.
  • Feed and bedding must be furnished by the exhibitor and animals kept in assigned pens.
  • All animals must arrive at the fairgrounds by 8:30 A.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017 and will be released at 8:30 P.M. Any sheep leaving before this time must have permission from the show manager all entry fees and premiums will be forfeited. Out of state exhibitors will be released after completion of their particular breed show.
  • Decisions of the Show manager and Judges will be final
  • Supreme Ram and Ewe will be selected from the Breed Show ONLY (classes 1-12) at the conclusion of the show.

  • General Rules of Junior Breed Show Apply
  • Commercial Ewes will be weighed and classified on Friday, July 14th from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday, July 15th from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
  • Exhibitors may show no more than two(2) ewes per lot in the Commercial Ewe Show.
  • All ewe lambs must have lamb teeth. Yearling ewes must have yearling teeth. No   ewes with two(2) year teeth will be shown in the Commercial Ewe Show.
  • Ewes shown as commercial ewes CANNOT show in the Junior Breed Show.
  • Ewes will be divided into classes by weight.
  • Champion and Reserve Champion Commercial Ewes receive Rosette Ribbons – No Premium Money

 

 Class 14 – Market Lamb Show

  • General Rules of Junior Breed Show Apply
  • Market Lambs will be weighed and classified on Friday, July 14th from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and on Saturday, July 15th from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
  • Exhibitors may show no more than four(4) lambs in the Market Lamb Show
  • All market lambs must have lamb teeth and must be wethers or ewes.
  • Ewe lambs shown as market lambs CANNOT show in the Breed Show.
  • Lambs will be divided into classes by weight.
  • There will not be a sale in connection at this show
  • Champion and Reserve Champion Market Lambs receive Rosette Ribbons and No Premium Money

 

Class 15 – Showmanship

Judging starts at 10:30 A.M.

  1. Junior (4th-6th grades as of January 1, 2017)
  2. Junior High (7th-8th grades as of January 1, 2017)
  3. Senior (9th-12th grades as of January 1, 2017)

 

Class 16 – Wool and Woolies Revue

Judging starts at 9:30 A.M.

  1. Peewee (have not entered the 4th grade as of January 1, 2017)
  2. Junior (4th-6th grades as of January 1, 2017)
  3. Junior High (7th-8th grades as of January 1, 2017)
